Students who complete the Cultural Diversity in Healthcare Certificate will be able to:
- Appreciate the differences that exist within and across cultural groups and the need to avoid overgeneralization and negative stereotyping
- Demonstrate knowledge about varying cultural beliefs about health, disease, and treatment that influence health care practice
- Analyze the development and persistence of health disparities and the impact of access to care in the United States
- Analyze cultural diversity from a creative and scholarly perspective utilizing social science methods
- Communicate effectively through accessing, evaluating and presenting information through traditional and electronic formats
- Demonstrate cultural self-reflection to build cultural competency
