PEDS 5090 - Learning in Family Environment (LIFE)
Grade Mode: Satisfactory-Unsatisfactory, Audit Prerequisite: None, Student will step out of their student role and into a true-to-life “hands-on” approach to family-centered care in a patient’s home/community environment; students will interact with families/children with chronic medical challenges and/or children with disabilities/special needs. Students will be encouraged to see beyond the child’s diagnosis as they see how families accommodate for their child’s illness/disability in daily life. The concept of family-centered care will be the basis of this course.
