PEDS 5016 - University Hospital Pediatric Emergency Room
Grade Mode: Normal, Audit
Prerequisite: PED 5000, This elective offers the student exposure to a variety of presentations and problems in Pediatric Acute Care; medical illnesses, trauma, minor surgical procedures, as well as major emergencies. There will be an opportunity to assume progressive responsibility for patient care as an extern under the supervision and guidance of Emergency Room pediatricians. Emphasis is placed on experiential learning and you will follow your patients’ progress in this unique Emergency Room setting. You will be required to work every other weekend.
