CAHS 8130 - Grant Writing (2 Credit Hours)
This course will introduce the students to the methods of scientific and education grant writing. This includes exploring the different sections of a grant proposal and the role of a grant reviewer. The students will be able to appreciate the importance of understanding how the missions of funding agencies determine the types of grant submissions as well as how to write a grant based on reviewer grading criteria. The ultimate goal of this course is to prepare the doctoral students to begin to think about what their research interests are and what types of projects they need to design to write a scientific or education grant for their doctoral training and future employment.
